PRESIDENT’S COUNCIL IN MEETING The president's council of the Adams County Home Economics clubs met for their final 1916 meeting yesterday. The all day meeting was held in the annex of the church at Monroe. Program planning was the important businorie for the forenoon session. The following topics were selected to lie studies for 1947: party suggestions and selection and wrapping of gifts; flower arrangement; laundry, pressing and mending; club proceedure; grooming; traveling aids; labor savers; handicrafts and slip covers The foDowing county officers were selected for the new year: Mrs. E. Mrs. Lloyd Byerly and Mrs. Thomas Adler. district missionary MEETING HELD HERE The Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church was the site yesterday <it the district Women's Missionary society rally, with approximately one ht'ndrtd and forty five representatives from the churches in the group in attend ance. Included .miong the guests were Mrs. M. O. Herman of Indianapolis, district superintendent of the Indiana conference, who presided at the meeting, and Edith Eichenauer of Celina, (1., Vice president of the district. The oeiMions opened nt ten o’ch vk with the devotional study, entitled “Christian Service," given by Mrs. Merlin Correll, and special song by Mrs. F. H Willard. "Come Ye Blessed." Mrs. Herman then gave a report of the biennial meeting held In Pennsylvania recently. Dr. C. C. Talbott, former superintendent of China Missions of the Evangelical church, was the principal speaker at the sessions. Dr Talbott, a China missionary for forty-three years, spoke on the Christian life of the Chinese, their habits and customs. At noon, the group adjourned to the First P’-esbyterian church, where the Missionary society of ' that church served the luncheon.
