Negro Chauffeur Robbed And Slain Two Men Sought By Police In Illinois Joliet, 111., Oct. 12 — tl'Pl — Police today searched for two men who fatally beat and robbed a negro chauffeur as he was towing their automobile to a gasoline station. Alonzo W Porter, 63, driver for Mr*. Marie Mackay. Chicago, wu* killed by the pair, who halted hl* car about I® miles southwest of here last night and *ald they were out of gas. Mrs. Mackay, returning to Chicago from Freeburg, Mo., sail Porter had hooked a tow line to the men's car and pulled it alsiut two miles. He noticed the men In the rear car were applying the brakes, stopped and walked back to the second car to investigate, she said. When he didn't return Mrs. Mackay went back to see what was keeping him. and found him lying beside the load. The two men had fie I on foot Mr*.
