Aug. 16 (UP) A new record high In corn production was Indicated today by Purdue university and federal agricultural statisticians hut other Hoosier crop* were somewhat lielow normal. They estimated Indiana farmers would harvest a crop of 21'.775.<ttt0 bushel* of corn, five percent above last year's record figure and 38 percent above normal. The average yield per acre, however, was expected to equal the
1945 top at 53. Additional acreage was the reason for the total increase. Other crop estimates by the agricultural observer*! Winter wheat 30,616,000, or 21.5 bushels per acre. Oats 57.831.000 bushels. 37 per acre, three |M-rcent less than last year's crop but 44 percent above I average. Barley 550.000 bushels, two, thirds of 1945 production due to smaller acreage. Hye 596.000. smaller than last year due to less acreage.
