O ■ At a recent meeting of the Fed eral Council of the Churches of Christ of America it was agreed that an atomic armagc-ddon is not inevitable Even though the glacial grind toward another war was already In progress the council was warmed and Illumined by an unquenchable flame of ho|>e. "I am full of hope because the situs lion Is so hopeless," said John Foster Dulles at the end of a chilling summary uOhe state in which th<» war had left the world. "Under these circumstances, men will be compelled to draw on the spiritual resources of the Christian faith." Before it adjourned, the council accepted as its own a report of the section on world order which said: "ominous as the situation is, Christians know that there is sure ground for hope Through the centuries the Christian church has met the test of desperate times. It has shown that they can be turned to victorious account through tho power of God. in Jesus Christ. It Is for the churches of Christ to make this power decisive for the generation of mankind" HOME EDUCATION A newsboy was asked In which house he livod. He answered. "It ain't a house-; it’s a home." When asked what was the difference, he replied that he guessed the sun shone on a house, hut in a home. Fanlight on the outside is from the rays of old Sol. but the light on the Inside Is generated by the people who live there. As one walks or drives down street past many buildings, and remembers that one out of every five marriages ends in divorce, one wonders how many houses are really homes. Sunlight inside a house which is a home cannot be obscured by clouds. The sun in a home never sets. Sunday School Lesson Discussion Questions Discussion Question* on the Sunday schccol lesson.
