June 11 -<I’P» Plans far the repair of the First Baptist church here were under consideration today as tiremen mopped up after a 125,000 fire which swept the building yesterday. The fire was believed to have started in the roof where tinsmiths had been using a blowtorch to repair tho slate. Most of the damage was In the Sunday school section where firemen had to remove part of the roof to reach the flames. o Sewage projects head the public works list, with 139 cities Intending to make sewer improvements Water utility projects are second on the list, with 127 cities reporting plana to construct water-soft-•ming plants, watermain extensions or additions to water plant*.
Ask Notification Os Change Os Address Next Os Kin Urged To File Notification The war department appealed today to those who during the war n-celvisl notice of the death of a relative In the armed forces over*«as to inform the military service to which the deceased was attached if the have changed their address in the I'nlted States since the date the notice of death was first received. The war department's request for present addresses of next of kin Is made also on behalf of the navy department, marine corps, coast guard, and civilian agencies. Within the next few weeks the war department will mail to the last known address of next of kin of oversea* deceased of the army and the civilian agencies a letter requesting Information regarding their wishes for final burial. Similar letter* will be mailed by the navy department, marine corp* and coast guard to next of kin of deceased personnel of those services. The war department lias la-en authorized by congress to ascertain the wishes of legal next of kin concerning the return and Anal burial of World War II dead of all military services. The remain* being returned from Europe and the Middle East will la- brought through the New York port and sent to families throughout Ohio. West Virginia. Kentucky and Indiana. The remains being returned from the Pacific and China Burma theater, will be brought in through the San Francisco port and sent to Columbus general depot and fam Illes throughout Ohio. As soon as possible, tiie war department will notify Hie next of kin as to when the remains will be shipped to the next of kin.
