Richmond Kelly Turner dis closed todsy that the naval high command In W'ashlngton mistaken ly believed In 1941 that Adm. Hus band E Kimmel had facilities at Pearl Harbor for reading Japanese code messages indicative of war Turner, former chief of navy war plane, made thia revelation lief ore the congressional Pearl Harbor investigating committee which had received evidence prei viously that Kimmel had no such facilities. Earlier testimony showed that Adm Thomas C. Hart. Asiatic fleet commander at Manila, was given special equipment, not supplied to Kimmel, with which to intercept and decode Japanese mess ages It was these messages which enabled high command officials hero in the critical months before 1 Pearl Harbor to follow Japan's I diplomatic and military trend toI ward war Turner told the committee that 1 he and Adm.
