Ben Gallion, field representative for the state board of tax commissioners, was here today ami held a hearing at the court house on an appeal filed by Mirs Catherine Jackson of Kirkland township, on an assessment of real estate and improvements. The case had been heard prior by the county board of review and was appealed by Miss Jackson to the state board. George Gilpin of near Polson, Montana, in the East Lake Shore area has 325 cherry trees which are expected to produce 20,000 pounds of top grade cherries this year, a newspaper dispatch reveals.' Mr. Gilpin is a nephew of R. E. Gilpin of this city. The Montana cherry crop is expected to be as large as last year and those who keep in touch with it predict that the crop will be of better grade. The Rev. J. M. Dawson of near Decatur has been trav <■ 1 ing throughout Van Wert, 0., during ■the pa>st month, speaking in various churches in the interests of prohibition. Mrs. W. G. Reynolds and son Robert have returned to their home in Decatur, 111., after spending the past few days in this city with Mr. and Mrs. Pete Reynolds and Mrs. M. F. Harris. Mr. and Mns. A. M. Anker have moved from the Rice hotel to 352 North Eleventh street, where they will reside until the Townsend house is vacated.
