The July meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Bennie Harkless, with twelve members and four guests present. MRS. SIMEON HAIN HONORED WITH SHOWER The Misses Sanna Kunkel, Harriet Kunkel, Kathleen McConnell, Joan Neering Betty Fuhrman, and Mrs. William Browil united in entertaining with a miscellaneous shower last evening at the Elkhome for Mrs, Simeon Hain, formerly Miss Pat McConnell. Bridge was played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Gray Paddock, Mrs. David Kunkel, Mrs. John Brecht and Miss Kathryn Weiland, who in turn presented them to the honored guest, A delicious luncheon was served at small tables, laid with linen, and centered with small bouquets of mixed flowers. A hostess corsage was presented to Mrs. Hain, who aleo received many lovely gifts. The W. M. A. of the First United Brethren church will meet this evening at seven thirty o’clock at the home of Mrs. Harold Hitchcock, 1140 West Madison street. Mrs. Zella Baker will be the leader, and Mrs. Hubert Cochran and Mrs. Roy Mumma ’he assistant hostesses. Each member is asked to bring a toy for the children in the basement. iMr. and Mrs. tom Kitson entertained with a dinner recently for their son, Dan, who celebrated his thirteenth birthday anniversary. Troutner are the parents of a baby girl, born Wednesday afternoon at 5:12 p.m. at the Adams county memorial hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 13% ounces, and has not been named. o — Fred Fullenkamp has purchased the Harry Fletcher summer home at Lake George, Mich., and will get possession in two weeks. ■

Timetable For Returning Vets Paris, Aug. 9. —(UP) —Redeployment timetable of U. S. army divisions : 30th infantry: advance unit home, 119th regiment expected to clear LeHavre this week end, remainder scheduled to leave Southampton on Queen Mary Aug. 17. 13th airborne: advance party on high seas, main body on way from ('amp Pittsburgh in Reims assembly area to LeHavre. , 45th ■ infantry; advance unit bn high seas, bulk of division expected io leave Camp St. Louis in Reims area for LeHavre Sunday. 35th infantry: advance party home, main body being processed at Camp Norfolk in Reims area, scheduled to leave for LeHavre middle of next week. Charles Burdg attended the Jay county fair Wednesday and reports it a dandy. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Heller and son Jack of Fort Wayne were dinner guests at the J. H. Heller home last evening. Mr. and Mrs. Burman C. Ray of St. Mary’s, Ohio visited here last evening. They operate a lake resort and tavern there and want friends from this territory to visit them when convenient. Members of the YMCA at Van Wert are camping out this week. Since they can’t leave their jobs and travel is difficult, they are tented in four parks and lots in and on the outskirts of the city and enjoying a wonderful time. The Fort Wayne children's home band will give a concert at Berne Sunday evening at 7:30 o’clock. Berne’s town tax rate has been fixed at 62 cents, the same as it has been for four consecutive years, D. W. (Bud) Me Millen, Jr., has returned to life desk at the Central Soya company office in Fort Wayne, following an operation. Losier Eckrote of Fort Wayne, a brakeman on a Pennsylvania passenger train, was here today looking after business and calling on friends.
