Last week I mentioned the pedestrian safety proftitem. Pedestrians have rights as well as motorists but they also have equal responsibilities. Jaywalking must be discouraged. Educational programs in schools, at civic meetings, at ladies’ aid societies, ohurch igatherijigs and the like, should cotntian brief messages from the police authorities on proper walking haiblts. Boy Scouts should be solicited to assist In the program and set a proper example.
