Lt. Snyder is the uon of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Snyder of Evantiton, 111. Mr. Snyder was formerly vice-president of both the Central Sugar Co., and Central Soya Co. The new lieutenant was inducted into the attny on Sept. 16, 1943 and served with the Parachuta Troops as a physical and jump training Inst ructoi before going to officer candidate school four months ago. He held the rank of Sergeant before being commrissloned. The new officer ta a graduate of Eiutatton high school at Evanston, and I-afayette college at Easton, Pa., where he was prominent as an all-out football player, also basketball, boxing and basebull. Johnson arose early and continued to drive eouth. eventually arriving In Richmond. He Inquired twice where th<- police station could be found and a short distance from the building, parked his car and walked into the chief's office and told him that he had a body of a woman in his automobile. Another officer was summoned and they walked with Johnson to the parked car. Uncovering the body, they drove tbe car and Johnson back to the station and placed Johnson in jail Johnson first told a story that he had a struggle with bls wife and that she was fatally wounded in the scuffle. Dinner was served to Johnson in the jail and a few min utes later he told officers he wanted to tell the truth about the shooting. In the presence of the officers he said that he shot her and that while traveling along the road south, had tired a second shot. Funeral services for Mrs. John-
