Report On Aid To Veteran’s Wives FederakState Aid Started June 10 JiKlianapolis. July 10. — (UP) — The director of the state bureau of maternal and child health reports that about 576.000 In flnancial commitments were made in the last 30 days to aid servicemen's wives. The money was paid out under the newly-established federal-state program of aid to veteran's wives. Dr. Robert Jewett said that about 700 children have been born to India servicemen's wive* or received pediatric care since the program began June 10. He added that 38M.000 has been allotted for July and that SOO cases are anticipated. The program makes federal and state funds available to provide maternity and pediatric care for children up to one year of age to wive* of men in lower ranks of the army, navy, marines and coast guard. No payments are made if th*' patient or family provides any part of the medical or hospital costs thus preventing wives from getting “luxury" care through paying for additional services.
