Concrete Features Os New Building Explained
There are a few points about the building that every Adams county resident ought to know. A trip through the structure will convince anyone of its strength and durability. For Instance, all the exterior walls and basement partitions are of reinforced concrete. This type of construction la known to architects and engineers as architectural concrete, commonly called just solid concrete. You can get a good idea of how the building Is constructed by looking at the concrete walls, columns snd ceiling beams exposed to view In the basement. grain pattern. This was achieved by forming the concrete between large sheets of plywood. The whole effect is pleasing and beautiful. The floors are of concrete, 100, and the contractor put down clay tile and asphalt tile as covering to walk on. The roof likewise la a concrete slab with the outside finished with a built-up roofing malarial. Partitions of the rooms and corridors of the main floor are of tile. The concrete beams do not show on this floor, the ceilings having been plastered and insulation material added to absorb nolee. There are 96 rooms in all in the building, with 38 located in the
basement and 57 on the main floor. Outstanding features of the structure are the ramp-type passages leading from the basement to the main floor corridor.
