Christian Lev*, John 11:14, M| I Corinthians 11:1-|| for Bunday, November M Christian love | a oimpl.- and yet *o profound and mysterious that explanation* and dlsruMiona of it are dilßiult It | g to be demonstrated in life with auch a force that all other power will yield to it. V. 34 "A new commandment I give unto you, that y c love one another, even as I have loved you. that ye also love one another" These were among the clewing word* of Christ, a Atting climax to hte teachings; the leaders in many warring nations are moved by bats and of course do not want such Christian teat hings a* given in the Lord's commandment. It is the only force that will end all war. it is demonstrated in the lif K of Christ. V. 35 "By this shall all men know that ye are my diaciples. if ye have love one to another.” The witnessing power ot Christians is seen best in the expressions of love such as Jesus hud and which he promised to give his followers. The fruit of the Spirit is love and Christ promised to send his Holy Spirit on all who wanted him V. 1. “If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal." The most effective language Hows not from the tongue but from the heart full ot love. Too many make a chattering noises, words, words, nothing but words, V. 2 "And If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains but have not love, I am nothing." Prophecy, knowledge, and faith have their rightful place, but they <an not supersede the divine affection of love. V. 1. “'And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and if I give my body to be burned, but have Hut love, it progtetb me nothing. To be charitable w deserving commendation, It Is a great honor to die for one’s Christian faith: but greater than these demonstrations of th. Christian life Is to live and act by the force of that inward power of love. V 4. "Love suffereth long, and is kind, love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puff< <1 up." Here are mated the positive sides of love. Lover never die* and therefore suffers long; love knows no evil and therefore is kind; love wants to survo and therefore envieth not; love is humble and then fore neither vaunteth Itself nor ie puffed up. V. k. “Doth not behave itself unseemly, socketh nut his own, is not provoked, taketh not account of svil.” Love need* no book on etiquette; love seeks to save the lost and therefore secketb not its own; love does not react mikindly and can not be provoked; love believes in the good and can not credit any evil. V. 6. “Rejolceth not In unrighteousness but rejoiceth with the truth." Love is tuned to truth and righteousness and takes delight in them. V. 7. "Beanth all things*, believetb all thing*, endureth all things.’* Love is strong and can carry heavy leads; love holds faith in its bosom and therefore beiieveth all things that are true; love doe* not fight back therefore endureth. V. 8. "Love never faileth; but whether there be prophecies, they yball be done away; whether tbeic CHURCH PAGE SPONSORS THE FIRST STATE BANK General Banking —o HOLTHOUSE DRUG CO. V. 11. “When I was a child.
