DRUNK DRIVER HIT BY COURT ! State Supreme Court Upholds Conviction In Lower Court Indianapolis. Doc. M ... ((jp) — Testimony tending to show that an automobile driver was Intoalrated while driving la suffi. lent jto warrant conviction in county courts, the Indiana supreme court had held today. It was believed the decision would aid police In their drive to dear Hoosier highways of drunk en drivers. The decision was made on an appeal by Wilbert Hunt, an Indianapolis liquor salesman, from his conviction on a drunken driving charge in Hamilton circuit court. Hunt had admitted having aome drinks when the accident occurred but In court testified that he was suffering from monoside poisoning Physicians and others teatlfled that he was poisoned but police officers staid he showed evidence pf Intoxication. Hunt's attorneys contended that not enough evidence was shown to justify the drunken driving confiction and that police testimony was illegal because he waa arrested without a warrant. The supreme court ruled sufficient evidence had been presented and affirmed the circuit court verdict. o LEAGUE OF NATIONS continued rnoa raug onii secutlve day But for the moment the political front In Europe, brought Into action and on to the world stage through the suddenly restored machinery of the league of nations, probably was more Im ports'll than the flghllng fronts. One leason Is that the British and French apparently have decided to rally world opinion against the ■ Soviets tactics and. with Germany, i Italy and Japan abandoning the ' league and Russia threatening to 1 follow, they may expect to dominate the Geneva sessions The Brltlsji, it was asagrtetl In SUDDUTH’S MEAT MARKET Phone 22# Open Tilt Noon Sunday NOTICE—tJth street is open to Shoppers.
