Jolly Junior* The Prwble Jolly Juniors 4-H club mot at the home of Lillian Stoip June 2b with nine member* present. Eleanor Meyer. Margaret Niekwu. aud Allee Stoip. A sewing period wa* enjoyed af- ' ter which the business meeting was held. The club chose a* its candid ‘ate for Fair Queen Norma Aerling. Aiso the members who Will participate in the judging contest. They |are: Sewing, Norma Worttag; Baking. Lillian Koenemann, Canning. Florence Hoffman. Play practice was scheduled tor I July 7. This play will be rendered at the achievement program. The club was then entertained by a song from Mar-ell* Ho'tman. a recitation by Lillian Koeremann, and a demonstration by Lillian Stoip on "The Making of a Placket" A very delicious lunch was then served by the homeas, Lilliau Stoip. Walter P Jacobs, 42, resigned president of the bank, confessed to federal agents in Detroit he embezzled $120,000 of the bank's funds. we went to our rooms and unpacked our bags. Then we went to the cafeteria in the Union Building and ate our lunch. The afternoon was spent in watching girl's demonstrations at the Kllza Fowler Hall. Two of the demonstrations were "How to pack a Suitcase' 1 aud "The Care ot the Skin." The girl's dormitory was having open house Monday afternoon so the members <rf our group accepted the invitation. Our guide showed tu the kitchen. dtntng-ro<wn laundry, recreation room, and bedrooms. In the evening wc enjoyed a concert which was given by the Shelby county farm bureau 4-H band, whose director was Hubert Marshall. Tuesday morning we watched a few of the boy's demonstration* which were quite interesting, id I tae afternoon we attended an organ ! prelude given by H. Irwin Metzger ■ and also a program called "S’ng and } Be Happy." The main speaker war ! Mary L. Matthews, dean ot home le.-onomlcs. Her topic was “Wort | -ind Be Happy." At the Union Building. Tuesday j night, every 4-H member and teachler was invited to attend tne 4-H club banquet. After the banquet we bad our I choice of either going to the Me I mortal gymnasium to play gamer and folk dances or to the dance m the ball room ot the Building. Wednesday wo had the pleasure lot seeing three groups ot boys repeat their demonstrations, two were I* dairy aud one was poultry. Several 4-H Club mem*>ers told .of their experiences and work in Itaeir years ot work over the dinner belt program W. L. S. at El‘*a Fowler Hall. John Htmme. field manager ot I Prairie Farmer, gave an inte*-eating •attt about what other boys and ! gills of other nations are doing I when they are ot 4-H Club age. The last event ot the day was the I presentation ot awards by Dr. Z M. ’ Smith at the Eliza Fowler Hail. | Some of the awards warn trips, trophies, ribbons, medals and (nonley. We were all very pround to see Adams county boys demonstration team win a trophy and a trip. ■ At 3:00 p. m. we started on our I wuy to Adams county. At Marlon we stopped and ate a small ItuKii t was very happy to think I was amung the few of Adams county to win this trip.
