Ohio Decatur's Yellow Jackuts op«<ned the 1939 baseball season at Worthman Field Monday afternoon, reg IstorTng an easy 9-2 triumph over Wren. Ohio. Coach Deane Dorwln's chargee tallied In each of the first four Inninas while Wren could score only in the first and fourth frames St hnepp held the Buckeye nine to four hits, all singles and well scattered, while Decatur collected eight safe blows and were aided by five Wren, Errors. Wren tallied In the first Innina on two bases on balls and a sacrifice fly. The Yellow Jackets bounced back In the same frame with three runs on singles by Hoffman. Rchamerloh and Highland and a two-base blow by Gaunt. A nett of passes and a single by Lynch gave Decatnr another run in the second. Two tallied in , the third on a pair of Wren errors. A hit and a walk gave Wren Its second tally in the fourth. Decatur closed its scoring In the fourth with three tallies on a single by Hoffman, a double by Highland and three Wren errors.
