S. marshal's van to appear in New York court and plead not guilty to espionage charges Miss Hofmann and 17 others, only three of whom are in custody in United States, the others having fled the country, were indicted in connection with the alleged spy ring discovered by G-men. All four pleaded Innocent and were held on bail of $25,000 each pending trial, Aug. 1.

BLOSSOM TEA WELL ATTENDED Almost one hundred guests attended the annual blossom tea held in the entertaining rooms of the M. E. church Friday afternoon. The church was beautifully decorated with baskets and hampers of flowers. A splendid program of music and readings was given by Mrs. Maidie Ruth Norman, a professor of dramatics in the Bennett college for negroes. Miss Helen Haubold accompanied Mrs. Norman at the piano. After the program the guests| were seated at small tables where [ light refreshments were served.
