" mb < :i fcWWM &*• •)B Jack Livingston with sheriff One of the most sensational murders in Detroit’s history resulted in murder charges being drawn against Jack Livingston, wealthy oil operator, shown with Sheriff George Bates, above. He was charged with fatally wounding a prominent politician and former business elate,'lsaiah Leebove, in the bar of a smart hotel>ln Clare, Detroit suburb. Leebove was reported to be a former associate of Jack "Legs’’ Diamond, New Yotk gangster, and Arnold Rothstein, famous gambler, both cf whom were slain. Police said they thought Leebove was slain because of losses suffered by business associates iH,recent deal. Livingston pleading not guilty, was held without bail.
