HOOSIER FIVES END SCHEDULES THIS WEEKEND High School Teams To ( lose Regular Season Tonight, Saturday Indianapolis. Feb. 25. <U.R) Hoosier high school eagers, prim jug for their annual hot box of tourney competition, finish the scheduled season this weekend with the north central conference to be settled and a final take-off on state favorites ready for the books. Frankfort's Hot Dogs meet Log ansport tonight in their last bid for a big 10 co-chuinpionship with Muncie. Lanky "Splinter" Johnson. Frankfort pivot man. has a slim chance to beat Caines of Muncie for the league scoring title. Johnson has baited through 87 points in 11 games while 1 Carnes already has set his total at 102. Victory for the Dogs would make the final standings 10 won and two lost for both Muncie and Frankfort. The big tourney threat of the capitol city — Shortridge — swings into Anderson tonight for a game which the canny Archie Chadd undoubtedly would like to lose. There's a strong possibility they will meet again in the Anderson regional. The Indians, fumbling badly badly through a season of humiliating defeats after their 1937 state championship, still can arise to meet equally any five in the state, but a victory over Shortridge tonight might erase possible upset chances two weeks from now. Rumors from the automobile city are that the Indians have more on the SI N. MON. TUES. 10c Matinee 1:15 Sunday TWO MAJOR FEATURES! Another state favorite winds up its season tonight as Bedford throws its Stonecutters, limestone, chisels and all. against Central of Evansville. The cutters have a great chance to get to the New Albany regional, where either the Bulldogs or Jeffersonville will ' await them. Tonight Coach Los- ’ totter is aiming for Central.
