Church School, 10:30 a. in. o CHURCH REVIVALS St. Paut Christian The revival meeting which is iu progress at the St. Paul Christian i Union church is increasing In both interest and attendance. Rev. Marshall. pastor of the local Church of God is the evangelist. He discusses such subjects as sin and repentance in a very forceful manner. The revival will continue indefinitely, with services beginning each evening at 7:30 o’clock. The public is urged to attend. o Pleasant Valley Revival services are now in progress at the Pleasant Valley Wesleyan church. Rev. Grant Whit-
nack is in charge of the preaching services. The song service is conducted by A. M. Jellison of Portland with Mrs. Jellison at the piano. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cox of Roanoke, talented gospel singers and musicians, will be with us over the week end. Services each night at 7:30 o'clock. Calvary Evangelical Church George S. SAM JACKSON (rONTtNUttD FROM PAUBONE) in 1924. Jackson was a candidate for congress in 1928. During the national campaign of that year lie also took an active part in Alfred E. Smith’s campaign for the presidency. He is a member of the committee on character and fitness of the state board of law examiners; a former member of the board of governors of the Indiana State Bar association; a charter member of Fort Wayne post No. 47. American Legion. He is a Thirty-third degree Mason and an elder in the First Presbyterian church. In the World War he enlisted May 16. 1917, with the U. S. Army in the First Officers’ Training camp at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, where he won the commission of second lieutenant of infantry He was ordered to Camp Zachary Taylor near Louisville and assigned to training troops. He won promotion to first lieutenant and later won a captain’s commission. Having been schooled as a lawyer, he’ was later appointed trial judge advocate for Camp Zachary Taylor. He was busy in that branch of the service during the remainder of the war. and was honorably discharged April 21, 1919.
