BUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS ENJOYS WATCH PARTY Thu Work and Win clans of the United Brethren Sunday school held a watch party Now Year's Eve at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil llarvey. Thlrty-elx members attended. Vice-President Clarence Drake was In charge of the meeting. During the program a vocal duet wa» sung by Mrs. Lytle and Mrs. Fisher. After the lunch hour Rev. Miner led the worship service which extended through me midnight hour. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Dick Shaffer ar.d Rev. and Mrs. H. W. Franklin. DOUBLE SHOWER GIVEN FRIDAY A lovely double shower was given by the Clifton families at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Clifton in Wren. Ohio, New Year's Eve in honor of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Baker and Miss Inio Gene Clifton. Mrs. Baker was formerly Mise Maxine Clifton. Miss Imo Gene ditto who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Clifton became (he bride of Jack Irwin of Decatur Sunday evening. January 2, at the bride's home in Wren. Many pretty gifts were received by the honored couples. At midnight delicious refreshments were served. The Pinochle Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Sol lajrd Thursday evening at seven-thirty o'clock. Prominent Local Citizens Observe 50th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew D. Artman, prominent Decatur citizens, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday January 2, with open house from two until eight o’clock at their home at 103 North Tenth street. Mr. and Mrs. Artman were married at Willshire, Ohio, January 3, 1888. For a time they resided in Plymouth, Ohio moving to Decatur November 6, 1900, where Mr. Artman was associated with the Schafer Comipany as a salesman for twen-ty-five years. He is now employed /by the Central Soya company. The couple has two children, Mrs. Riibv Baker of this city and James M. Artman of Hillsdale; three grandchildren, James M. Artman, Jr., Mrs. Mary Louiee Hayes and Margaret Artman, all of Hillsdale. A dinner for the immediate family was held Monday noon in hon-
