BEARS DEFEAT GENEVA TEAM Berne Scores 37 To 30; Victory In Rough Tilt Thursday The Berne Bears, maintaining a lead all the way, scored a 37 to SO triumph over the Geneva Cardinals in a fast, rough game played at the Geneva gymnasium Thursday night. Berne was out in front at the half, 22 to 17, and kept a fair lead throughout the last half. A total of 33 personal fouls were called. Geneva losing three players and Berne two. Hartford held a lead of 13 to 12 at the half, and the teams were tied five different times during the contest. Bittner was the outstanding star of the game, the Hartford guard hitting eight times from the field and twice from the free throw line for a total of 18 points. E. Sunday School Class Plans Program i An announcement was made today that Clarence R. Betts, of Corn ing. New York, will give an entertaineient at the Decatur Methodist Episcopal church. Wednesday 1 evening, at 7:30 o'clock, in an event sponsored by the Mary and Martha class of the M. E. Sunday School. Mr. Betts comes from Corning, , New York, and is a well known in- j strumentalist and gospel singer. He will bring with him a number of different instruments. No admission is to be chargrtl for the program, but tickets are being distributed by members of the Sunday School class. An offering will be taken. o Mrs. Wayne Troutner Reports Seeing Meteor It was reported toddy that Mrs. Wayne Troutner saw the meteor which is reported to have fallen in this locality Wednesday night about 8:30 o’clock.
