PHOEBE BIBLE CLASS HAS CHRISTMAS PARTY Members of the Phoebe Bible, class of the Zion Reformed Sunday school met in the social rooms of the church Thursday evening for their regular monthly meeting and 1 gift exchange. Mrs. ( - M. Prugh led in singing ' a group t.f Christmas carols and ' read a beautiful Christmas poem, I followed with scripture and prayer. - I Mrs. L. Fogle, president, presided iover a short business meeting. l i Forty members responded to roll I call 1 Games and contests were enjoyted and prizes were awarded toi : Mrs. Prugh. Mrs. (). L. Kirsch. Mrs. George Buckley and Mrs. Jim Borders. Santa arrived with a well filled pack and presented each one with a lovely gift. The members were then invited to the dining vom and seated at a long table, which was beautifully decorated with lighted tapers and flowers carrying out the Christmas motif. Each place was marked with a small burning candle with a frosted cookie for the holder. 1 Delicious refreshments were 1 served by the hostesses. Mrs. A. | R. Ashbaucher. Mrs. T. L. Each , girl is to bring a ten-cent gift. TWO COUPLES TO MARK GOLDEN WEDDING DATE On Saturday, December 25. Mr. and Mrs. John Duff, of Hartford . township, will have cause to commemorate two events. In addition to I celebrating Christmas Day, the i Duffs will also commemorate their
silver wedding anniversary. On the following day, Dot ember 26, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Rian. Jefferson townehlp, will commemorate 50 years of wedded life. I Children and grandchildren will take part in the golden wedding celebration. LOYAL DAUGHTERS' CLASS MEETS WITH MRS. BUTLER , Twenty members of the Loyal Daughters class of the Evangelical 1 Sunday school met at the home of their teacher, Mrs. Frank Butler,] Thursday evening and enjoyed a ] Christmas party. ' At six o'clock a delicious supper was served at the dining table, dec-1 orated with lighted candles nnd Christmas appointments, after which the president, Mrs. Charles Weber, bad charge of the program [ and gift exchange. A reading, ‘‘Christmas Treasures” was given by Mm. Robert Garard. ' The c'ass then presented Mrs. Butler with a gift and she in turn (presented each mmber with a gift. ! The January meeting will be held with Mrs. Garad, with Mrs. Mary I McClure and Mrs. Francis Eady assisting. Members aro requested to t bring their coin cards to this meeting. The woman's missionary society of the Zion Reformed church will have a bazaar and candy sale at |the church Saturday from 12 until I 8 o'c.’ock. Various aftractive and useful handmade articles will Ire on eale at reasonable prices. Delicious i candies will also be sold. The patronage of the public is solicited. MRS. G. REMY BIERLY IS CLUB HOSTESS The Decatur home economics club enjoyed a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. G. Remy Bierly Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Frank Butler. Mrs. Kenneth Eady, Mrs. Carl Moffit and Mrs. George I Kern as assisting hostesses. The outgoing president Mrs. i George Squler, gave a talk, foli lowed by a program of Christmas carols and readings by Mrs. Wnt. ‘Little and Mrs. Robert Garad. A gift \ exchange was enjoyed and delicious refreshments were served. The newly elected officers for 1938 are Mrs. J. E. Anderson, president; Mrs. Arthur MTiler, vice-pre-sident; MiN> Charles Hammond and ! Mrs. Russell Acker, leaders; Mrs. ‘ Ralph Stanley and Mrs. Francis Eady, alternates; Mrs. Gilbert I Strickler, secretary-treasurer.
