catfish and Knapping turtles. A dozen species of pheasants, quail, partridge and other game birds will be shown along with mallard ducks and members of the migratory waterfowl species. This part of the exhibit will also Include eagles, hawks and owls. Beaver, raccoon, bear, fox, oppossum. squirrels and other Indiana wildlife will occupy the lighted pens again this year while a collection of Indiana snakes will be displayed In special cases on the porch of the fish and game building. These exhibits afford state fair visitors their only opportunity of the year to see an extensive display of Indiana fish and wildlife and study the markings of the different species. Other activities of the Department of Conservation to be pictured in state fair exhibits include a display by the state parks, one showing the importance of forests in erosion control and timber supply, one explaining insect pest and plant disease control work, and another made up of Indiana's mineral resources. Preparation of these exhibits has been under way for several weeks and each will be more complete and interesting than in the past. Representatives of the depart-

The ships will be purchased in the United States. o “Dove” Tree in Hawaii Honolulu (U.R) The first “dove" tree ever seen here has arrived via Pan-American Clipper from China. While the tree figured prominently in ancient Chinese literature, it required a three-year search to find the present specimen in the Yangtze valley. It has been planted on the island of Kauaj. Blossoms are similar in shape n.nd color to a dove.
