Miss Lulu Gerber was the first to discover and read the following "Hele nand Ed, June 17. 1937''. After the luncheon, bridge and bunco were played. Prizes for bridge were awarded to Mrs. Waiter Deltsch, Miss Velma Walters find Mrs. Chris Lehman and for; bunco, Mrs. Henry Seelig, Mrs. Le-' land Frank and Mrs. E. F. Bloem- i ker. A number of out of town guests were present and included the Mee-', dames E F. Bloemker, A! MISS VIRGINIA LAURENT HOSTESS TO SO CHA REA Miss Virginia Laurent was hostess to the members of the So Cha, Rea club Thursday evening at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Joe Laurent- Tables were formed for bridge and after five games, prizes were awarded to Mrs. Clyde But'er, Mrs. Vincent Borman and Miss Marie Murtaugh. Mrs. Laurent was presented with a guest prize. At the close of the games the hostess served a lovely luncheon. FOREIGN MISSIONARY SOCIETY HAS MEETING The woman’s foreign missionary society of the Methodist Episcopal church met at the home of Mrs. F. R. Fenimore Thursday afternoon. Interesting talks were given on the conference at Hoagland by Mrs. Jack Freidt, Mrs. W. O. Little and Mrs. R. A. Stuckey. Prayers were, offered by Mrs. C. L. Walters, i Mrs. Waldo Graham. Mrs. E. N | Wicks and Mrs- W. O. Little. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Stuckey, after which refreshments were served by the. hostesses, Mrs. Walters, Mrs. Frank I Crist, Mrs. Arthur Krugh and Mrs. Charles Fletcher. The next meeting will be held with Mrs. Leigh Bowen.
The Union township woman’s club will meet with Mrs. Frank Crisenberry Wednesday afternoon at one-thirty o’clock. The assisting hostesses will be the Mesdames Ivan Shifferly, Ivan Barkley and William Knavel. MISS BETTY BROWN HOSTESS TO E. D. T. S. Miss Betty Brown was hostess to the E. D. T. S. class of the Evangelical Sunday school at her home Thursday evening. After the routine I business, games were enjoyed and I prizes were awarded to Miss Betty Fuhrman and Mies Martha Macy. Mies Betty Burke was a guest other than members. A lovely luncheon was served at the close of the evening to the following: Ruth Hammond, Jane Graber. Martha Macy, (Betty Fuhrman. Guest's ! 1 book, “You Can’t Live Your Own' Life." I The president, Mrs. James Kocher, conducted the business meeting which closed with the Mizpah benediction. Mrs. Kocher presided at the tea! table, which was lovely with its lace cloth and silver service. The table carried a low bowl of yellow tulips as a center piece. The church was decorated with baskets of beau- ' tiful vari-colored tulips and lilacs. PERSONALS; Mrs. John Bixler, of Berne, is re-' I ported seriously ill at her home. Mrs. Charles Voglewede and Arthur Voglewede returned today from Chicago where the latter attended to business. They also visited Mrs. Robert Voglewede, who Is recovering from an appendectomy. Mrs. George Beers of Fort Wayne is the guest of Mrs. Philip Obenauer of North Fourth street. IH- W. McMillen is spending several days in Chicago looking after business. Jonas Tritch of Fort Wayne visited here last evening. C. D. Teeple attended to business in Fort Wayne today. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Klepper motored to Genoa, Wisconsin today where Mr. Klepper will attend to business for the Cloverleaf Creameries. Mrs. E. B.
