■ officials are confident this will prevent many cases of illness and possibly some deaths. Landscaping of private properIty will be encouraged. The trimming or shrubbery and the planting of trees are among the things | will be requested. Other improve-j merits along this line are: clean--jug-up of backyards, setting out of gardens, reseeding and weeding of lawns, etc. New Purchases During the time that the spring ho u s e-cleaning is progressing, members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce are suggesting the installation of new articles niture. electrical appliances, plumbing, kitchen equipment, and other home improvements. Painting and remodelling has been recommend-1 ed. It was pointed out that these ’ can be done at this time of year: with less confusion than at any I other. Those who can’t afford new automobiles this year are urged to ov-| er-htyjl and repair the old cars, to j make them better appearing as well as safer. In addition to improving the appearance of the city, the club is certain that business and employment will be stimulated by the campaign. o Contractors Expect More Building Here Several new homes are being) construtKed in the city in an effort to solve the housing problem. Contractors have stated that the • finding of suitable lots is becoming a problem for prospective home builders. Mord home building is anticipat- 1 ed during the coming summer than at any time since the de- ■ pression by contractors, some of, whom are booked for months', ahead. Some of the homes are to beg fl nanced through the Federal Housing Act. 0 f rade in a Good Town — Decatur
