DRAW GIVEN FOR TOURNEY St. Joe To Play Cathedral Five Thursday Night The St. Joe eighth grade quintet, Dhcatur’s entry in the Catholic grad" tourney to be held in Fort Wayne this week will have their hands full if they are to come through with a win. as can he seen by the draw, announced last night hy tourney officials. The local graders, who are entered in the tourney with 11 Fort Wayne teams, St Vincent'®. Villa and Auburn, ple.v their first game Thursday night at 8:30 o'clock. meeting .St. Vincent. To win their way to the finals they must meet the winners of the St. Peter-Cathedral and probably Precious Blood-St. Patrick tilts. Should they win over the St. Vincent team they must play Cathedral first. Cathedral already hold-, two wins over the locals while St. Joe has split even in two games with the Precious Blood five. Games will be played Thursday Friday ami Saturday nights. Sun- 1 day afternoon and Sunday night ; IV the Precious Blood gymnasium. I o — MPcTi ** I (By Prtei Decatur fans will have their last chance of the season to witness a basketball game in this city Friday night, when the Yellow Jackets entertain the Kendallville Comets. —o()o — It will market the final appearance on the home floor of four of the Yellow Jacket regulars, Bob Brodbeck. Bud Hurst, j Wendell Smith and Bob Worthman. These four will be lost by graduation at the end of the school year. —oOo— One more game remains on the regular schedule for the Jackets after Friday night. The Jackets will journey to Berne Friday. February 26. in an effort to atone for the two defeats suffered this season at the hands of the Bears. —oOo— The Commodores will wind up their regular schedule this week, with games away from home both Friday and Saturday nights. The Commies will play at Celina. SPARTANS SCORE SECOND VICTORY Pleasant Mills Turns In Second Win /After 13 Losses The Pleasant Mills Spartans won their second victory of the season Tuesday night when the eked out a 23-20 win over the Commodore Reserves on the local noor. Protecting a slim, 11-9 lend ut half time, the Spartans, led by Wil liamson. emerged the victor in a nip-nnd-tuck buttle that wus anyone's game until the tinal minutes.
