Mix suet with dry ingredients, then add fruit, rolled oats, syrup and milk. Mix thoroughly and place in a greased mold. Steam 3 hours. Serve warm with saramel sauce. Top with hard sauce and dash of nutmeg. Orange Glory Cover bottom of well buttered' layer cake pan with orange sections and orange sauce. Pour over this a plain cake batter. Bake in moderate oven about 25 minutes.' Cut in individual servings and top with vanilla ice cream and gam- 1 ish with orange sections. Sift flour, ; baking powder and salt. Cream shortening. Stir in sugar gradual- : ly, then slightly beaten egg, nut--1 meats and vanilla. Add the sifted dry Ingredients alternately with date and coffee mixture. Bake in a shallow pan in moderately hot i over (3750 F. for 30 or 40 minutes. When cool spread with mocha frosting. The coffee flavor of this fs unj usual and the dates help cake to remain moist for a long period.
