The outstanding feature of the entertainment was the lovely pageant,” When the Light Shines.” Selections were given by the choir and a number of solos sung. Included in the pageant was a violin solo by the Rev. George Walton, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Walton. The children enjoyed a treat at the close of the program. UNCLE OF LOCAL RESIDENT DIES !Emil Franz Dies Sunday Evening At Home In Middlebury Emil Franz, aged G7. an uncle of F. E- Franz, of this city and a former Berne resident, died at his tome In Middlebury, Ohio, Sunday evening at 9 o’clock. Death was caused by dropsy and complications. The deceased was born in Switzerland on March 29, 1869. When a young man he came to this country and moved to Berne in the year 1880. There he was married to Katie Lehman, of that town. For several years he served as fire chief and town marshall of Berne. In 1911 he moved to Middlebury. Surviving besides the widow are five children, all away from home. A brother, Dr. Ernest Franz and one sister, Mrs. Julia Habegger, both of Berne, also survive.
