Mrs. Marvin Jones' of Van Wert was an out of town member present. The sorority will mee’ in two weeks with Miss Glennys Elzey. The Union township woman’s chib will meet at the regular time, the last Wednesday in December, at the home of Mrs. Hubert Zerkle. The Young People’s class, of the Union Chapel Sunday School, will meet Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Charles Bailey, at 6:30 . o’clock. MISS KAUFFMAN IS CLUB HOSTESS Miss Sara Jane Kauffman was hostess to the members of her bridge club at a pretty Christmas party Wednesday evening. Bridge prizes were won by Miss Louise Haubold and Miss Deloris Russell. An exchange of Chritmas gifts was enjoyed after which a lovely luncheon was served. The tables carried clever decorations of white cellophane, centered with red candles. LADIES' AID HAS ALL DAY MEETING The ladies’ aid of the Evangelical church mot Thursday at tne church for an all day meeting. Mrs. Alva Buffenbarger was in charge of the meeting. Mrs. John Fuhrman led in prayer. Mrs- John Spahr was in I charge of devotionals. The chairman of each section turned in her money at this time. At twelve o’clock a delicious dinner was served to the twentyfour members and ten visitors present. !n the afternoon Christmas carolds were sung after which Mrs. Eugene Runyon told the Christmas story. After dinner five games of bridg“ were enjoyed and prizes were given to Mrs. Herman Ehinger and Mrs.! Roy Kalver. Guests other than club members : included Mrs. Kalver, Mrs. H. H. I Myers, Mrs. I- W. Macy, Mrs. E. j B. Adams and Mrs. Frank Alton. CHRISTMAS PARTY AT SPRANG HOME The home of Mrs. Daniel Sprang of North Second street was opened to the members of the Mary and Martha class of the First Methodist Epiecopal Sunday school Thursday evening for the annual Chrietmas ; party and gift exchange. Thirty-one members attended. The entertaining rooms were decorated in keeping with Christmas. Mrs. L. Dolch, class president, presided during the business meeting. Mrs- Homer Lower led the devotionals. Christmas carols were sung. The following officers were electled for the new year: Mrs. Jessie Roop, president; Mrs Laura E- Crill secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Walter Krick told the Chris’mas story of, j "The Other Wise Man.’’ The gift exchange was then enjoyed. Lovely refreshments were served 'by the hostess, Mrs. Sprang, assisted by Mrs- J. D. The tables, laid with white linens, were centered with red tapers surrounded with evergreens. A large lighted Christmas 'ree added to the attractiveness of the decI orations. Clever place cards were made by the art class, under the direction of Miss Kathryn Kauffman. The entertainment committee was composed of Miss Jeanette C'ark, Lowell J Smith and Miss Eleanor Pumphrey. ! Between courses Christmas carols j were sung. Mrs. Walter J.
