Sunday, August 2 at the Lehman park In Berne. LADIES AID SOCIETY PLONS FOR LAWN PARTY The Lading Aid Society of the Zion Reformed church met Wednesday afternoon in the church parlora with Mra. Ralph Yager In I charge of the program. The meeting was opened with the hymn, “For the Beauty of the Earth." followed with Scripture reading and prayer. Mna. Dallas Goldner and Mrs. Henry Nelrelter sang a vocal duet and Miss Katheryn Schroyer played a piano solo, "Dance Caprice”. A reading, "The Average Girl" was given by Mias Alice Yost. Mrs. Yager read an interesting paper on the "American Flag." Misti Marjorie Miller played a piano selection and Mrs. Nelrelter sang two selections, "Sweet Ga'ilee" and "Alone at the Beautiful Gate." The regular business session was ’ conducted and plans were made for ; a lawn party to be held at the Ben | Schroyer residence on North Third street on August 20. Plans were also made for a cafeteria taipp-r on September 19. Refreshments were served by the hostesses. Mrs. Tillman Gerber, Mrs. Albert Miller, Mrs. Cal Yost and Mrs. Donald Stump MISSIONARY SOCIETY ENTERTAINED AT MONROE The members ot the local Women’s Foreign Missionary Society of -the Methodist Episcopal church were entertained Wednesday afternoon at the home of Rev. and Mrs, Elbert Morford In Monroe. Irene Winteregg had charge of the program which included the regular lesson study and subtopics. Rev. Morford sang a vocal selection and Rev. and Mrs. Morford sang a duet. Mrs. John Floyd ga' ean interesting description of her trip to Old Mexico and Pike’s Peak. During the social hour refreshments of homemade ice cream and cake were served. Those from Decatur who attended the meeting were the Mesdames George Harding. Delton Passwater, Leigh Bowen, R. A. Stuckey, E. W. Johnson, Irvin Elzey, Charles Fletcher, Frank Crist, Ben DeVor, L. Mills and H. R. Carson. The Philathae class of the Baptist Sunday school will meet with Mrs. Roy Johnson Friday night at seven-thirty o’clock. Mrs. Alva Baker will be the leader. A iparcel post sake will be conducted at this meeting and all members are asked to be present. MISSIONARY SOCIETY ENJOYS ANNUAL PICNIC The Missionary Society of the Zion Lutheran church held its annual ipicnic along the banks of the Bellmont Park lake last night. Lights were strung along the banks of the lake making the setting, 'Xjtli the welcome cool evening, an ideal one.

Thirty small tables were arranged forth? convenient service of the luncheon prepared by the commiti tee comprising the Mesdamee Oscar Bieberich, Paul Hancher, Alva Railing and Paul Schultz. Over one hundred attended the luncheon. Since its Inception the Missionary society has annually held such an outing for the members and friends of the organization. The Missionary society has been in existence only a few years but has sponsored many noteworthy endeavors of the church. During the coming Centennial It will sponsor, in connection with a'l women members of the church, a concession. MR. AND MRS. DEHNER ENTERAIN FOR NEIGHBORS Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dehner of Union townah!|>, who lojst their home by fire early this spring, have just completed the building of a new residence. Assistance in clearing the grounds of debris of the fire and erecting a new home was given freedy by friends and neighbors of the Dehner family. In appreciation of the services rendered by these neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Dehner invited the following people to a' iparty at their home Tuesday evening: Charles Ditlinger.
