BEARS DEFEAT DECATUR TEAM HERE, 37-16 Berne Starts Early And Continues Its Undefeated March The Berne Boars showed the Decatur Yellow Jackets and fans just why they are rated highly throughout the state, by handing the Jac- , kets a 37-16 defeat on the local floor Thursday night. It was the eighth straight victory without a defeat for the Bears, who last year were among the last eight teams at the state final tourney at Indianapolis. COMMIES SCORE EASY VICTORY OVER WARRIORS Local Five Rings Up 7th Straight Victory With 56-22 Win Jefferson township proved no stumbling block to the Decatur Commodores, who rang up their seventh consecutive victory of the season with a 56-22 triumph Thursday night at the Berne auditorium. Decatur led at the half, 30 to 15. The commodores held a 19-8 margin at t-h? first qquarter, 30 to 15 at the half and 42 o 17 at the third quarter. The Commies used 10 players during the game. Braden was the scoring ace for the Commodores with nine field goals and a free throw for 19 points. Don Hess hit five times fjom the field and six times from the charity stripe for 18 points. Foreman led Jefferson with tnree fielders and as many foul shots.
