Lewis Supringer and children. o Riley Pupils To Present Operetta The pupils of the Riley building will present an operetta, "What’s the Matter with Sally?” at the Decatur high school auditorium Friday evening at 7:30 o’clock. The price of admission will be 10 cents for grade children and 15 cents for high school stdents and adults. The story of the operetta centers about a very rich little girl, Sally Donnelly, who has, due to her environment, become sulky and discontented. Hoping to discourage these traits, Sally’s mother plans with an old friend and schoolmate, Miss Jeffries, who teaches at St. Thomas’ Orphanage, to leave her there as “an orphan” for a few weeks. Under the influence of the new surroundings of those less fortunate than herself, Sally soon realizes that her sense of superiority Is the natural development of selfishness. The plot is full of interesting situations, finally developing into a characterization of friendship love and loyalty.

Miller of this city and Mrs. Rose Moran of Indianapolis returned last week from a six weeks’ visit in Los Angeles Cal., where they were guests of the forme:'a daughter, Mrs. Harry O. Paul and sons, Dick and Fred. Mias Frieda Scherer spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Wagoner in Monroe. Mr. and Mrs. Shady and daughter. Ethel of Preble, spent Sunday with D. C. Shady family in Kirkland township. The condition of George Hill who has been a patient at the hospital since Friday afternoon Is improving steadily. Kenneth Vise] of Van Wert, Ohio, looked after business here today. Mr. and Mrs. George T. Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pierce of Port Huron. Michigan were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Morris of North Fifth street. Dr and Mrs. Ben Duke visited in Fort Wayne last evening. Leo Kirsch and Theodore Graliker are spending two days in De-i troit. C. R. Uhl and sone Bernard and Richard, returned to Toledo, Ohio, yesterday after at several day’s visit at the Charles Voglewede residence. Mrs. Uhl remained in Decatur for a continued visit. Howard Mauller, trustee of Union township was a business visitor in Decatur this morning. Charles Ehinger and "Lightning” Thomas returned to Lafayette Sunday after a visit with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ehinger. They were accompanied by Jim Ehinger, who will return this afternoon. Tom Voglewede returned to his studies at the University of Detroit after a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Voglewede. J. Walter Bockman returned Monday afternoon to the Hines Hospital, Hines. 111., after a several days’ visit in Decatur. Mrs. G. H. Wehmeyer is ill at her home on Mercer Avenue. Mr. Beitler was severely injured Saturday when he and his non Ixivern were cutting trees in a woods. A limb fell, striking Mr. Bi-ltler on the back of hie head. Hlfl right arm was paralyzzed following the accident and it is thought that he possibly suffered a skull fracture. o Receives Word Os Death Os Relative Dr. P. B. Thomae received word Sunday morning of the death of hie brother-in-law, George W. Horn, of Grrenville, Ohio, hueband of Dr. Thomas'e only living sister. Mr. Horn died from pneumonia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Thomao and Mrs. Carrie Haubold accompanied Dr. Thoman to Greenville Sunday evening. He will return to Decatur Tuesday evening. o Trustees Vote Down Hiring Health Nurse The township trustees in their regular monthly meeting today voted down a motion to employ a county health nurse for this school year.
