The ceremonies were part of the five-day celebration being held in I connection with the 100th birthday, of Wabash county. Hundreds of persons, dressed in costumes depicting the progress of; this northern-Indlajia farming com- ’
1 munity from the time of oxen carts , to the present day. paraded through i he downtown district. All business houses were appropriately decorated and windows contained priceless relics and momentos of the days when this community was nothing more than an Indian-pioneer village. A oigeant of 11 episodes, depicting the development of the county, was held at the stadium last night. Featuring the pageant was an act duplicating the Indian treaty | epFsolfe, in which white settlers obtained right to the land from the .Miami Indiana in 1826. I Bvents In the life of Frances Slocum, Pennsylvania white girl, who was kidnaiped by Indians and found living as a squaw with a tribe in southern Wabash county several years later, also wore part of the pageant. . The pageant will be repeated tonight. Ceremonies surrounding the dedication of the rotary light memorial were held on the lawn of the courthouse.
