Civic Section of the Woman’s Club and their families was held Wednesday evening at Butler’s Grove. Twenty five persons were presnt. A pot-luck supper wus served after which a s cial time was enjoyed. MISSIONARY SOCIETY HOLDS MEETING AT WARREN Twenty four members and fifteen vtsitors of the Women’s Missionary Society of the Monroe Methodist church motored to Warren, Wednesday, where they held the regular meeting of the society in the Methodist home for old people. The meeting was opened with the song, "I Need Thee every Hour" and scripture reading by Mrs. Sadie Scherer. Mrs. Delilah Graham offered prayer. The Mysterj’ Box Question was conducted by Mrs. John Floyd. Mrs. W. S. Smith was the program leader and the fallowing program was presented: instrumental music, Betty Sprunger; solo, "In the Garden” by Lucille Sprunger. who also celebrated her fifth birthday anniversary Wednesday; reading, Mrs. Albert Duer; song, Kings Heralds Trio; reading. Mrs. G. A. Hahnert; song by Betty Sprunger; musical reading by Mrs. Floyd and song by the trio. Dismissal and prayer was by Mrs. Scherer. Following the meeting the guests visited .at the home. MRS. ROBERT MCGRIFF HONORED WITH SHOWER Mrs. Robert McGriff, who before her recent marriage was Mies Helen Gerber, was the honored gueet at a br! Ige party and kitchen shower with which Mrs. Walter Bockman ...nd Mies Mary Yost entertained Tureday night at the Bookman home. Tihe color note of yellow and white was carried out in the appointments for the party. Three games of bridge were played and Miss Cecelia Appehnan and Mrs. Leia White received the high score prizes. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Crill of Bloomington are spending their vacation with Mr.-Crill’s mother, Mrs. Laura Crill of this city. J. P. Habegger, SO, Berne, will leave today from Chicago for Seattle and Spokane, Washington by airplane. While in the west he will visit friends and relatives. Mr. Habegger expects to spend about a month on the trip. The flight from Chicago to Seattle will require only 14 hours. Mrs. Sadie Baker of north Fourth street is seriously ill. Jack Dailey of Paulding Ohio, was a visitor in Decatur today. A new roof is being placed on the Schafer Store building. The Niblick buildings, occupied by the Daily Democrat and Vance and Linn clothing stere will also be reroofed. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kirsch and children will leave Frid.ty night for Oden. Michigan.
