Most of us don't care if Lady Ashley and Doug Fairbanks go to the South Seas or England. Reputable dealers will not do it and boo'leggers shall not sell alcoholic drinks without having a license. A house in Montgomery. Ala-t bama. has been occupied by the same family of descendants for the past 105 years. Haven't they ever heard of the remodeling program? How .many taking units will be able to reduce levies for next year. The demands on government increases and with valuations about' on a IglEpt with a year ago, how can tiirTfgets be reduced?
If you. lived in the mountains you probably would want to go to the sea shore for your vacation. If you live in Indiana you probaldy linger for the lakes. You'll find much to enjoy and entertain you right in your own state. The arrest of the Brewster boys has cleared most of the robberies ' committed in Adams and adjoin- 1 :ng coun’ies. The boys received ' little far their efforts and will now be deprived of their liberty and citizenship. Again, crime doesn't pay. < Respects of the Adams County < bar Were, paid to the late Judge 1 Vaughn of Bluffton at a meeting •' of the legal fraternity held here t yesterday. Judge Vaughn deserved 1 the highest respect and admiration i < of alf wils knew him. He was an 1 able and honest jurist, an unself- 1 ish individual and a good citizen. 1
An 'old fashioned Hoosier welcome will be accorded Big Jim Farley, postmaster general if he finds it possible to accept the speaking date at Hairy Day m this city next month. Decatur would be g'ad to have him and we are sure the distinguished gentleman would be equally pleased with his reception here. Hope he comes.

Better ventilation, more sunlight and larger quarters wil' be the result of the improvements. A more worthy project could not be furthered. The city council in following the I orders of .the State Board of Ac- . counts to collect delinquent light I and water hills does not wish to cause a hardship to anyone. Payment of billsTs good business. Profits from the municipal plan: are turned back to the people, benefiting the public as a whole. Those who by unfortunate circumstances or lack of employment, were forced to le: monthly L-ills accumulate, are asked to call at the city hail and make arrangements for partia l payments. That’s only fair and cheumstanees will be taken into consideration. The death of Earl Martin, creamery executive and one of the founders of the C-’overleaf Creameries of this city, brings sorrow to his many friends in this county. Mr.j Martin was one of the pioneers in’ the creamery business in this see-1 tion of the country and in 1915' organized the Martin-Klepper com-1 pany, which later expanded and became the Cloverleaf Creameries. He was known wherever dairy products were marketed and years ago gained the reputation of an expert butter maker. He had a jovial disposition, loved companionship and had friends in every part of the country, all of whom regret to learn of his sudden death. o TWENTY YEARS* 4 AGO TODAY | From the Dally Democrat File
