Mont. — (U.R) — Fire, which has been raging in the McCoy coal mine here for approximately 15 years, finally has been extinguished. The task was accomplished by a crew of 14 men, working since May of last year. Cost of the project was about $lO,000. There are several theories as to the origin, the most no able being that the oil comes from a leak In one of tlie inuny nearby pipelines from the fields. "I don't care where it comes from”, said Salcido, "just so it keepu coming"--which it probably won't. Similar backyard oil wells near famous Signal Hill dried up when refineries pledged rhe leaks. o Old Railroad Coupler Found Fremont. Neb. -U.R) —An old railroad car coupling link, which railroaders sav is a rarity today, is on exhibition here. It was found by workmen beautifying the former site of a railroad derrick yard. The coupling, thick with rust and weighing about 10 to 15 pounds, was outlawed in 1900 as too dangerous to switchmen.
