I hearing and reading of God’s Word. ■ I we will ding more firmly to God'a j prornfeea. ourt faith will reach a greater measure of perfection, and II our life will become full of confi- . ■ dence, hope, and joy. Then we will ! slug with nnderataading fervor: All . I hail the power of Jesus' name: . Let angvh prostrate fall; I Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all. Behold the extent of Jesus' power when he walked through the nuging billiont! of the sea and by HU word of power caused it to take on a beautiful calm and tranquility! Behold the exteut of Jesus' power when .he fed the five -thousand with such a meager supply, when he ' raised Lazarue from the dead, when - 1 He demonstrated His power in an ' many miracles. Then apply this power of Jesus to yourself, to your ! troubles, to your dngers, to your ! prayers, and to your faith und hope It will give what we all need, a bet-' ter and a more blessed toncepion and undersanding of Jesus whom J ! we love. The disciples often had seen the' ; power of Jesus, but some of them | I at. times did not fully comprehend | ' the extent of it und entertained some doubt. To remove all this doubt and set them as examples to us, the Muster at one time had 1 them sail without Him upon the I calm but treacherous sea of Galilee ' in order that He might show and demonstrate to them their utter i weakness and nothingness without Him and heir safety and blessed state with Him. They obediently sailed but suddenly a gnat .tempest ! overtook them and in their hopelessness and despair Jesus appeared amid the raging billows of the sea and said: It is I; be not afraid! i “And immediately the sea was calm The disciples had learned their lesi eon, for they fell down and worshipped Him. Friends, let us Jearn j lour lesson from them, so Jesus IK <1 1 not in some other way bend our : knees to teach us this lessson anew. I i The disciples could not help but read Jesus' pow r in His words: “it j isl; be not afraid!’’ It was being I demonstrated before their veryeyes. We should never he afraid | for at all times Jesus has all power i 1 in heaven and in earth. At ell times all nature must do His bidding, it is always superseeded, yea even abrogated. by the divine power of Jesus. At all times counless hosts and legions of anges ora ready to do His . will. At all times Jesus’ enemies lie ' prostrate beneath His feet- Remember this in all your cans and anxieties, in all your unneessary doubts and worries in life, in all your prayers and hopes. It will make your life more hopeful and confident. B’hold Jesus’ power nd omnipotence also in all that He has done for cur salvation. Because of His divinity and unlimited power. He was able to take upon Himself tb-e untold millions of sins of the human race end conquered and defeat all our enemies, sin, death, and the ,-powers of darknksa. Because of His power, he ascended on high and |is sitting on th 5 throne of His glory. I Because cf His omnipotence and unlimited power. He is able to be our only and surely capable intercessor and advocate before the throne of the Father. Let us see it, I in it lies for us life and salvation. Behold Jesus’ p wer in all His invisible d alings and work in the world constantly. He says: “All things work together for good to them that love God." Also all the trials and tribulations, crosses and afflictions -all work together for

1 good to them that love God There I are no oppositions of men, no invisI ible powers of darkue.se hut Huh! Jesus does not rule in the midst of them. He Is always our rnigh.y • shield and fortress; why then j I should we fear ought? I I Let us also see Jesus’ power iu connection with all His promises, i tor then we will believe them more ' firmly. He bus promieed: “1 will | never leave thee nor, forsake thee.” I He has promised: “Call upon Me In I the day ct trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou ahalt glorify Me." He has promts d. “And it ahull come to pass, that before they call, 1 will answer; und while they are yet speaking, 1 will hear." Why is it. my friends, that so many of these precious promises moan so very little to us in our daily life; why do w > not rely upon them at all times aud especially in times of i trouble? Because we fergat to see Jesus' .power in and behind them. . Bemuse in our littleness we always foolishly set limits to that divine ; power of Jesus, as if He had sustaining ability only in the small and insignificant issues of life. We ! sing indeed with fervor: Commit I thy way. confiding. ‘ I When trials here arise, 1 To Him w hose hand is guiding The tumults of the skies. i But unless we keep revela.ions of I. Jesus’ power constantly before our ' eyes and believingly really sea the 1 ' extent of it, these words will have I little comfort for us. i—o ■ — — Rev. M. W. Sundermann Thus saith the preacher: ' God's laws are perfect and unchangeable. I The axis of the earth has never ’ ne ! ded repackingNo 'planet has ever run into an • 1 open switch. I; -God's redemption is all-embrac- ■ | ing. The best need it, the worst find I It sufficient. I Righteousness in ans life, sin ■ means death, man makes the choice. ! Christ’s command to Evangeline I the World has never been leojlled. What the world needs today is, 1 men who have learned t > keep step | with God. Conservation of our youth is the I biggest thing we have on our bauds ■ today. i Jesus Christ is the remedy for all th? ills of the world. Rev. A. B. Brown The following ar? excerpts from as; rmou on “Heirs To Incorruptible Treasurers” preached by Rev. A. B. Brown. Sunday. "Let us consider together the incorruptible inheritance, tire incorruptible ransom aud the incoirup .- ible seed, the Word of God, in their 1 order was given in the first chaptci of Pater. "These supreme possessions are precious in proportion as you believe the Lord Jesus Christ is precious. "Unto you theres re who believe, He is precious: (I Peter,2:7), "In the light of His preciousness and apqptile Peter reveals the resurection of Christ, our hope; the appearing of Christ, our. reward; the suffering of Christ, ou rglory; <fhe blood of Christ, our redemption; and sacrifice of Christ, our acceptance; the footsteps of Christ, our example, and th? death aud resinrection of Christ, our pledge. ••I once heard Gipsy Smith say that 'Peter was always ready with an amendment, born in the objective case-’ Nevertheless, knowing Peter bett-e rin his failures and successes, we shall known ourselves better. For as Peter disc'.vered, so must we, that ’love is the key to the room of our reinstatement. “1. Our incorruptible inheritance (vers? 1). Tha tooth of time gnaws
GOOD NEWS FOR CONSTIPATION , SUFFERERS A new bread just developed and per- | fected, has both regulative qualities and , appetite appeal. A prominent scientific , lalioratory together with a local baker have made it possible for everyone to enjoy and benefit by this new loaf. I Natural Regulative Properties I “Relief from constipation in Nature's own way is what every constipation sufferer wants—and that is why w-e have developed this new liread I’RUN-O-WHEAT—wfiich contains only natural regulative food elements,’’ say its creators. "Pureconeentratedprune juice and flaked wheat-both natural foods, are the only laxatives needed to produce desired results naturally and gently. Cathartic drugs must not be. confused with natural laxatives. The former, used in many foods, do not cure constipation. They only aggravate the conditions by making the user depend more and more on their purging qualities. Man is intended to regulate elimination by eating proper foods which nature provides. But as nis life becomes less active physi - rally, he must change his diet to include more of these natural laxative foods!
away at all corruptible inheritance. Not ao with the inheritance reserved In heaven for you. "2. Our Incorruptible rarsom (verse 19:18) S v n great w rds tell the story of the finished work of Christ: Redemption; Reconciliation; Propitiation; Pirdon, Regeneration;. Justification; Sanctlfi-a-tlon. Ou the Godward side, there is no taint, no flaw of corruption in the ranson. No shadow darkens It, because it is Ineoruptible, "3. The Word of God is the only incorruptible seed ( I Peter, 1:23) In the providence of God there are mpeckil causes for special things. 'But God's Word is incorruptible seed, which partakes of the nature of the incorruptible God” (Romans 1:23) 'Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that theareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent m?, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but is passed from death unto life (John. 5:24)” Gospel Tabernacle Another fine service was held at the tabernacle during the weekend. Evangelist Williams preached a p werful sermon on "two eternities." Rev. F. W. Johnson, evangelictic singer from Garrett, u converted circus -clown, will lead the singing all week. “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering (for he is faithful that promises), aud let us consider one another to pro-veke ino love and good works.” Hebrew 10-23-24. o— STATE POLICE (CONTINUED ON PAGE FIVE) warning lights installed. Increase salaries of members of the clemency commission from $lO a day while in session to $1,600 a year. Permit courts to sentence persons convicted of bastardy to state farm as well as county jails. No Recess Members of the legislature starter their last full week of their regular session today, determined to complete all phases of the administration's progiar.i except social security. Social security will be taken up at a special session to be called early next summer. All hopes for adjournment before March 11, end of the 61 day limit provided in the constitution, were shattered by Aity. Gen. Philip Lutz, Jr., yesterday when he ruled that the general assembly cannot recess during a regalatiou session. The liquor bill has been made a special qrder of business for 2 p. m. today when it is expected to receive final apiiroval of the house, it then must go to the senate. Hard liquor and beer wholesalers who were unsuccessful in defeating certain features of the bill in the house will carry their fight to the upper chamber. They are seeking to substitute a single licensing system for (he triple system proposed in the bill. The group contends tha‘ a person wishing to sell only hard liquor should not be required to obtain licenses lor beer and wine, as the law provides. The group also is opposed to arbitrary powers given the state liquor commission which will be established under the measuri. High excise taxes are another feature which will be fought in the senate. The proposed law would reduce the tax on liqu >r from 25 to 12’i cents a pint but many of the beverage interests believe it should be cut to 6’2 cents to eliminate bootlegging. Waterloo Lineman Critically Hurt Auburn, Ind., March 4 (UP) George Izi.wscn, 38, Waterloo, a lineman for the American telephone and telegraph company, was injured critically when his automobile .plunged into a utility pole and overturned along U. S. highday 27, one mile north of here last night. He is in a critical condition in Sanders hospital here. TRANSIENTS ARE CONT INUED FROM PAGH ONE btory. They seemed resigned to the life they lead iu passive sort of way. They proposed no violent or communistic course against the government or society. When askod why they did not settle down in one place one man told the following story: “1 arrived i n a certain town recently. I hit. a policeman for something to eat aud a place to flop. The policeman was a good fellow and got me a meal ticket and a place at. Hie jail to Hop. He said, 'Why don’t you settle down in one place? Don't you know you will never get ahead this way?’ I asked him if I could stay in this town. The policeman said No. We have a one-uiglit rule in this town’.” The transient shrugged Ills shoulders. ThTTwas the general conclusion of the other man. They said no town in the country will iiermit transients to stay more than one or two uights. (Decatur also maintains the oue-ltight rule). They can’t hud work or gel a job without “puir*. All of the men were opposed to the FERA program maintained by
the government. The ideu is all* right they believed but there is •100 much graft by the big boys running them " "Why should I, I’m not going anywhere,” stated one of the men when asked if he travelled on freight trains. This man staled.
