At vantage points along the Tennessee river and its tributaries, the federal government is throwing up huge i dams to generate electricity and make an economic unit of the great valley. The Norris, Wheeler, Pickwick and Wilson dams are initial steps in one of mankind’s most colossal battles to transform primitive nature into efficient economic civilization. More than $98,000,000 already has been appropriated and 10,000 persons are working for the various projects.
