According to the last report made by Mr. Koop in 1933 there were 801 miles of roads tn Adams county. The roads then were divided among the state and county road departments as follows: county' hard surface, six miles; county gravel and stone. 690 miles; township, earth roads, 54 miles; state hard surface roads, 34 miles, and other state roads, 17 miles. Since that time the county has hard surfaced about 11 miles of gravel and stone roads. The state has taken over and hard surfaced the road now known as state road 527 running southeast from Decatur to Willshire, Ohio and 124 running east and west to the county lines through Monroe. The state has also taken over the road known as 118 running east and west

The mixture of concrete used above tile ground and in the spans where the weight is that of tension was: one part of cement, two parts of sand and three and a half parts of stone. Below the ground where there is compression weight the mixture was as follows: one part of cement; two and a half parts of sand, and four parts of stone. The only steel used in the bridges l is hidden from sight as it is buried I in the concrete to give it a greater tensile strength. Boruni Run. two tenths of a mile south of Decatur; 58 feet wide with 30 foot span; 21 1-4 feet high required 378.5 cubic yards of concrete. Raudenhysh bridge over th? Raudenbush Creek 7 miles southeast of Decatur; 58 feet wide with 24 foot span; 18 3-4 feet high required 241 cubic yards of concrete. Yellow Creek bridge over Yellow Creek 2H miles southeast of Decatur; 62 feet wide with 36 foot span: 21 3-4 feet high; required 437.5 cubic yards of cement. Blue Creek bridge over Blue | Creek, on mile southeast of Pleas-1 ant Mills; 51 feet wide with 60 foot Hpan; built on skew of 30 degrees: ' 26 3-4 feet high; required 601.5 j cubic yards of concrete.
