An automobile engine running 40 miles an hour breathes more air than a crowd of 200 people. Maybe that's the reason they call 'em airflow models. Chicago is enjoying a June bride boom. Last Saturday the countyclerk issued more than 300 licenses, the biggest day since before the depression. Good times are coming back and youth is not afraid. , Coffee is to he marketed in flake style, resembling the common oats j flake. Research laboritories vouch that the cup of coffee will taste 1 better and that it will take less to j brew a good drink. Well, we’ll h take a little flake coffee. Darrow- has let loose another gun 1 against the NBA, this time finding i fault with the retailer's code. At i least these reports bring out the weak spots and serve to correct mistakes. Such a groat undertaking could not have been executed ■without some errors, for humans drew up the codes and naturally man will make mistakes. — There are so many good things in the world that movie producers need not resort to the obscene and ! sexy sides in order to make interI esting pictur s. Our local theaters ■ are showing clean shows, selecting r them with the idea of providing ' wholesome entertainment for the i whole family and if exhibitors follow such a policy Hollywood may take note. Eormer Kaiser Wilhelm assures the German people that he and his i family are ready to return to the Fatherland and head a new mon-1 archy. With the Republicans I more or less divided on Senator | Robinson, Indiana can be looked to as one of the states that will send another Democrat to the senate. A welcome is extended to the new Methodist minister in this city and to those in the county. The Rev. H. R. Carson, for the past five years pastor of the Portland Methodist church has been assigned to this city. Rev. Carson succeeds Dr. U. S. A. Bridge, who since the death of Rev. C. P. Gibbs, acted las supply pastor. The new ministI cr will find that he has an interestled and helpful congregation and j we predict that he will enjoy tus residence and work here. • • Household Scrapbook | — BY—ROBERTA LEE Hints On Painting A good brush that will not shed I’s bristles is the most economical. The brush can be placed in a can of turpentine between usings to keep it soft. And don’t forget the cloth dampened with turpentine to wipe up spilled drops before they harden. Knife Handles •Clean ivory knife handles, that are discolored, with lemon juice and salt. Discolored bone handles should be sand-papered and then polished. Pearl han Iles can he cleaned with fine salt. Wipe them off thoioughly with a chamois torestore their luster. Coffee To make good coffee do not guess at amounts.
