It's a good time to paint and brighten up the house and garage, to ‘make rei»airs and to lieautify tMTyard. And all these things are j just the difference between a good l and a bum community. Merchants who are "up on their toes” and using advertising space report business much better than for* several years and those who . don't can't expect to get out of the slump. .. The Indiana State Medical Asso-1 station bulletin starts out with ! "Make your husband a spring 1 house-eieaning booster rather than I a knocker.” The housewife, if she i has an average husband, replied: I ‘‘Oh, yeah!” — Princeton Clarion- ■ News. Politics will continue to be a big I topic for another month until the I organization meetings and the con-i ventions are over. A three months! Juil will follow before the campaign II iiets under steam for the November election. 11 The dust storms are something new for this part of the country ; and about the only cause that sounds reasonable is that the spring drouth is unusual and a good shower is about the only thing that will clear the atmosphere. I We are in favor of making some change in the weather bureau if | those who handle the pumps don't i do a little better job of regulating. I Even the crop of May flowers has [ been shortened this year and if I we don't get the proper amount of I moisture and sunshine, the crops ' i may not be average. I John W. four years and In other places of trust has demonstrated his ability. I He is the son of the former UlusI trious leader of the same name and ' has many admirers over the stale i who expect to follow him in years I to come. The kidnapers seem to like the western territory best. The latest excitement on the coast is the abduction of a millionaire named Guttle in Los Angeles. Gettle had given a big party and was loitering I with a friend when a couple of tough ‘‘mugs' grabbed them, tied I the friend up, threw the million aire, who weighed ’two hundred, over the fence and lit out. It's certainly time we cleared the country of the desperate characters | who are making this an unsafe | nation for any one that has a few I I ucks to rub together. —————— The primary was given to the voters of Indiana so they might | have a voice in selecting their of-1 ficfals but the law has been sadly misused and will probably not survive another legislature. To start with not tc exceed fifty per cent of the eligible voters in the state cast a ballot in Tuesday's primaries. In this county hundreds of Republicans voted the Democratic ticket, to thejbiisadvantage oF every one except the winners. In other counties this was reversed where the Republicans aro in the majority. The old system had its weak spots but we doubt if it was any worse than the present system. Senator T. A. Gottschalk was re nominated for senator of Adam-;. | Wells and Blackford counties and ■ Frank Thompson of Bluffton for joint representative. The former ran ahead in each of the three counties and finished with a large majority. Mr. Thompson lost Ad ams county by a small margin to his opponent, Von Eichhorn, but carried Wells by nearly 400, giving him a majority of 195. Each of these men have served you well in the past and deserve support in November. They are experienced and capable and will be able to represent their districts in the highest grade manner. • o Get the Habit — Trade at Home
