The youths who conducted the city administration yesterday did a good job and convinced thw«who watched them that they will be able to handle the real jobs when they come up in the future. Ttys is the time of year when you have to send your card in to see a painter, paper hanger or other tradesman and then you may have to arrange a later appointment. Every body is busy. Our issue last evening was a • regular election euiton with the i announcements from many of the ( candidates. Read the messages and study what they say. You will make important decisions next Tuesday. Corn planting is on and the farmers are getting caught up with their work. There is a good chance for an old fashioned crop this year, if the weather is average. If wo get that and the prices strengthen, good times will be back and every one will be happy accordingly. The clean-up has been completed and its a good job. Go. over Decatur and you will be pleased' with the fine appearance. Every one appreciates the work done by the city force and they are grate ful for the excellent cooperation from the property owners. Skinner of Portland is vice-president and G. W. Carpenter is secretary. Its a snappy looking, six pager, well supported and well edited and looks like a winner. Everett Sanders has tendered his resignation as chairman of the national Republican committee, but Indiana is still in the game with ex Senator Watson and ex-Gover-nor Goodrich as candidates for the place. 11l health is given for the reason for Sanders quitting the post, but besides that there has for months been a demand from various G. O. P. sources that the Hoover manager step aside for some one that can bring the tactions together. The big primary campaign is closing. With tonight the active
The Mayor’s office belongs to you and should be used to further the interest and growth of our City. I fMy sole motive in seeking the place is to lend a helping hand in building a better Decatur. You want Decatur to go forward—so do I. I w ould like to cooperate with you in such a program and offer my years of experience with community affairs and contact with local government operation as qualifications for the post . I am enthusiastic about the future of Decatur and would like to give honest, unselfish service to you and all who claim this city their home. < M ; Your vote next Tuesday will ■ help me in winning the first mile iW- post. Telephones will be installed and arrangements made to provide the returns as rapidly as they come in. The usual plans for getting the results from over the county have been made and sufficient assistants will be used to keep the totals up and to j relay the news over the city and county. Call 1000 as usual and we will be glad to give you any in , formation you desire and that we| have at hand, or come io the Erwin building and make yourself comfortable. him an outstanding citizen and for years he had been recognized as a leader in New York. He resigned from the cabinet when his health began to fail, went to Arizona for several months, but no treatment helped and the end came after his return to his home in New York City. The death of this fine citizen is deeply and sincerely regretted by millions of good Americans who knew him only by reputation. o Answers To Test Questions Below are the Answers to the Test Questions Printed on Page Two. o — 4 1.
