Charter Member of The Indiana League of Home Dailies. Perhaps we can t blame the convicts tor buying their way out of prison, but we certainly have a right to deal harshly with guards and officials who betray their trusts by negotiating such a deal. The production of automobiles for Hie month of February this yuur was eighty per cent greater than in the same mouth last year. That’s a good sign and surely we won t stop the vehicle which is taking to the point of happiness w'e left some four years ago. < Every one is pulling with might and main for the Commodores who meet Youngstown. Ohio, in their first tilt of the national tournament at Chicago late this afternoon. The Ixjys have an excellent team and witlt a fair share of team luck, will go a long ways. ; Candidates are still announcing as they have the right to do for another ten days or so. The battles promise to be interesting as the campaign moves up but indications are that it will be a clean contest without mud throwing and with every candidate recognizing the rights of the others. Os course every one is hoping and praying that the President, to whom we have looked the past year for the correction of almost every thing that has been wrong, will be able to convince both sides of those discussing strikes, that they are wrong. It doesn't seem possible that those of either side would at this time do any tiling to longer delay prosperity. This city has never had an over supply of play grounds for the children and the new plan whereby the school board will take over a portion of the large tract recently purchased from Mrs.‘Mary Niblick and arrange it so it can be used lor baseball, soft ball and- other outdoor sports by tile children, is ideal. The water wells to be drilled there will not interfere and the youngsters will enjoy many happy hours at this additional park. Parents are requested to assist the police officers to curb the reckless use of the streets for roller skating and bicycle racing. The practice has become quite dangerous and several near accidents have just been averted. ! i. !!!S not deprive a single boy or girl of his chance to enjoy himself but we hope each will use care and caution, when riding or skating on the principal streets. Remember that cars travel rapdiy these days and its so easy to misjudge the speed. Russell Clark, third bandit to come up for trial at Lima for the murder of Sheriff Sarber is now facing a jury composed of eleven men and one woman. Evidence will be similar to that in the other cases and if you guess on the outcome, don't get sentimental for they are not listening io the sob sisters or the associates of these modern Jesse James, over there. Looks as though the gang will be rather well cleaned up and washed out when this session of court is over. Those who think they can charge Governor McNutt and his administration with any thing they want to and get away with it will find him a fighter of no mean ability. He has nothing to apologise for. He lias given a good account of himself and Hie promises of the last campaign platform have been kept as nearly as is possible and | ten times better than usual. Par-' tisans and disgruntled soreheads have attempted to cloud the real issues but When they get through with it, they will probably feel rather cheap. The boys who deliberately, either for’ fun or through a malicious tendency. destroy street lights, deserve the same kind of a spanking they would get if they continuously broke the window lights out at home. Losses of bulbs and shades on the street lights form a costly expense each year and the past couple of weeks this has become serious. The city officials have given fair notice and the youngsters should comply without further warnings. Those who don't, will just have to take whatever punishment is decided upon. The prac-] tise mas't'be stopped. Needless to repeat that we are all 'nappy over the outcome of the i sale of the sugar factory to Dale i McMillen and his associates. Not! that we do not regret that those who formerly owned stock in the Holland-St. Louis Company, met' with such severe losses, but because we feel that the new company has started on the right basis by which this comnisnity and all the beet growers in this vicinity will profit in the years to come. Plans will go forward rapidly now for the continued improvement of the plant and of the service. Judge Slick has overruled all objections I and since his decision is in line with federal judges of Ohio and Michigan, it is taken to be sound and conclusive. o Household Scrapbook —BY—ROBERTA LEE * _ 4 . Oriental Ruas The colors of a real Oriental rug can be revived by going over it with a cloth dampened in a vinegar and water solution. Boiled Potatoes To prevent bhe spoiling of boiled potatoes, take the lid off wheu serving. Allow them to cool a little rather than cover them and make them heavy from steam. Scratches and Cuts Small scratches and cuts should not be ignored. It a coat of iodine is used it will guard against infection. It takes only a minute and may save a great deal of trouble. o—— 0 ——»—— Answers To Test Questions Below are the Answer* to the ' Teat Question* Printed on Page Two. • —_— — 4 1 Tie Knights Templars and the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem. 2.
