Mr. Doe may re-j I duce his acreage as much as he 1 1 wishes but tho reduction payments J, ■ shall not be made on more than 30 I | per cent of the average acreage | taken out of production. He will I get one-half of the total corn reduc- 1 , tlon payment at the time the contract la accepted, and the balance, i minus local administrative costs. | on or about November 15, 1934. I; The land is contracted to then 1 government for one year. The con ,1 tract signers will be permitted top use the contracted acreage for ( seeding permanent pasture, grow- ( ing soil improving crops to he turn- t ed under, or crops to prevent eros- t ion, for summer fallow or weed I control, or for planting trees. The i signer, however, agrees not to in- 1 crease his total crop acreage dm- i ing the year, as an actual reduction of farm output is what is sought i in the adjustment program. i Mr. Doe will keep over only 1 enough sows this winter to raise 1 45 pigs during 1934 instead of 60. 1 Part of Mr. Doe's allotment of 1 pigs may be farrowed in the spring ! and part in the fall. However, the I ; total number of pigs raised and 1 marketed from the 1934 farrowings i lon his farm must not exceed 45 head. Hogs raised for butchering and use by the farmer or his hired men are not counted in this allotment, but are figured in it, if they are killed at home and the meat sold. For reducing to 45 head, John Doe will receive a reduction pay I i ment of approximately $225, which represents $5 per head on 75 per

| cent of his average production for > the two-year base period. This is I the equivalent of sls per head lor the pigs he agrees not to raise. | Tlie hog payment to John Doe twill be made as follows: $2 per head on his hog allotment as soon as his contract is accepted by ths | government; $1 per head about November 15, 1934, and $2 per [head, minus local administrative | costs, about February 1, 1935. | Total corn and hog reduction , payments at the time the contract is accepted for this particular farmei John Doe, would be s99' plus $72, or $162. His hog reduc-i tlon payment next November would | bi- $45, and final corn payment j | $72. The final hog payment in February, 1935, would be $»0.1 From these reduction payments which total $369 would be deducted John Doe’s pro-rata share of the expense ot the County Control Association. in addition, John Doo along with other cooperators will benefit from any increase in the regular market price for the. 45 hogs he sells In the fall ot 1934, and the spring ot 1935. The total ot reduction payments received by an individual producer depends on the average annual | corn acreage during the past two years, on the estimated past average corn yield per acre of the contracted acreage, and on the aver age number of marketable hogs produced by sows owned by the contracting producer during the past two years. 0 Decatur Circuit M.
