Oct 'I (Special) j—A total of $6,862.54 was paid in gross income tax to the state of, Indiana from Adams county during ' the July taxpaying period, accord ! ing to statistics compiled under the ' direction of C A. Jackson, head of the gross income tax division. This tax payment was" made by ; >4B taxpayers, making the average! payment $8.4)9. One tax payment I was made for every 24 persons in ' j the county. For each inhabitant in j the county 34 cents was paid. Gross receipts of all taxpayers' who paid in July from the county i aggregated $1,289,136.63. Tax paid at one per cent amounted to $5.-I 407.51 and tax paid at one-fourth of one per cent was $1,455.03.
