Hubbcl worked gome end of hy pi ioh lx on their favorite* iti the opener and believed Cronin. Go* lin and Manush would hit when they face the New York ace again It's better tliun an even bet that the Senators really will cut loose with some hits in one of the remaining series games. As old Ilaiis Wagner remarked, the Sen ators. best slugging team in the ..merican league, are due for a 14 or 16-hit game before the series ends. “I wouldn't he surprised to see it come today." Honus said. "They can't handcuff Goslin. Manush and Cronin forever. And don't forget the Senators were lucky yesterday. They gat doubles that went for the extra base by feet. They got singles by inches and split seconds. Wagner was talking about a fivehit pitching performance turned in by the ace left-hander of the Washington forces. Because of the shutout score it rated as the best pitching performance of the series. No Giant got as many as two hits, and in only one inning was there two safeties. Whitehill had every thing Inning after inning the Giants were three up and three down and from the fifth inning on. they got only a single hit. Revere Church Celebrattd Be-cket.
