They heard the pistol report, they said, and later found the weapon beside the dead youth. Rushing to the wrecked plane, they found Nelson dead, shot through the back of the head. Apparently he had no intimation of his impending death, no chance for desperate struggle with his slayer. A secret board of inquiry, com- | posed of county authorities, met l soon after the killings. Another meeting was to be hold today. Investigators puzzled whether! McCall had a secret hate for his | instructor and chose to kill him I high up in the plane. They learned that the'young man’s mind might ! have been weakened by disease and that when lie killed the instructor [and himself he might have been in pile grip of insanity. Another angle was why the plane hail gone for nearly three miles after Nekuii apparently had been killed. o — McNUTT SIGNS NEW BANK CODE MEASURE TODAY CONTINUED FROM PAGE ONE closed banks to dispose quickly of assets and property through public or private sale." Another important feature of the bill prohibits receiverships, heretofore often costly. I Hereafter the department will liquidate closed banks, department employes acting as liquidating agents. Dogs kill thousands of dollars worth of livestock in the sheep counties annually. That is why we have dog tax. If dogs were tied up or penned at night the mortality of sheep would be lengthened on tliis earth and perhaps the dog tax could be reduced to 50 cents per dog. Speaking of salaries for officials of our state or county, where is the advantage in abolishing one office: and give his duties and salary to another official'* And where is the advantage in limiting a county to four or five trustees and give them the salary of the offcials they displace. it might be said you can get better men for the place but you cannot for there are no better. It is all tommy rot. It is getting government down too fine. If other officials do the work of assessors or trustees with no additional charge then there is a saving. But when two offices, no matter which or where, are oombined and one man gets both salaries, then someone is passing out taffy thinking the taxpayers represent a kindergarten. And would some one piease explain this. Witli our colleges filled to capacity and charging tuition then why should Indiana appropriate around $3,000,000 for I U. of I Bloomington and a like amount for Purdue of Lafayette? Those are the places that seemingly start the high cost of education. As long as they can get such appropriations from the state legislature just so , long will they continue to spend. Here is a somewhat curious condition developed from the depression. The farmers working overtime trying to meet expenses but having an abundance to eat. Then there are the unemployed in the farm districts wim haven’t work and little to eat. The only other ; parallel is tlie super-rich with money to spend and squander and our poorer class with no money whatever to buy necessities let ,n s,, ” a,,lip| ' * >r <
“HAD CONSTIPATION SINCE BIRTH OF MY FIRST CHILD’’ Then Mrs. King Discovered All-Bran We quote from her .voluntary letter: “I have suffered from terrible constipation since the birth of my first child — 9 years ago! I have tried everything and nothing had any lasting results. Very reluctantly I tried your ‘All-Bran’ with no faith in it at all. Much to my surprise, I have not had to take any medicine since starting to use All-Bran, 4 months ago.”—Mrs. Doris Eyre King, 16 Abbey Road, Oxford, England. Laboratory tests show All-Bran contains two things which overcome constipation: “Bulk” to exercise the intestines; vitamin B to help tone the intestinal tract. The “bulk” in All-Bran is much* like that of leafy vegetables. Inside the body, it forms a soft mass, which gently clears the intestines of wastes. Certainly this is more natural than taking patent medicines — often harmful. Two tablespoonfuh daily are usually sufficient. If not relieved this way, see your doctor All-Bran also supplies iron for I the blood. At all grocers. In the i red-and-green package. Made by Kellogg in Battle Creek.

t ‘Wabash river insults the inteilia gence of every person in Adams 1 county. Here are four reasons: i (1) The county has a surplus of i food. Why prepare more land? (2) . Farmers are hard pressed. Why . add more to their tax? (3) Any . capable engineer would not begin , at the source of a drain. They begin at the outlet and work up.
