The stump was watched from a distance hut detectives never saw the person who withdrew their notes and left others. o— —, Averts Tragedy Sullivan, ,lnd., Feb. 10 —(UP) — quick thinking of a school bus driver averted what might have been a major tragedy today when he ordered 22 young passengers to jump out a rear door just before the bus was struck by a Chicago and Eastern Illinois freight train. All except the driver William Springer and one boy were cut before the crash. Three pupils were hurt in jumping and Springer was thrown through the front o# the bus. None was injured seriously but all wore brought to the Sullivan hosiptal. New Type of Metal Seen Salt Jiike City. Utah. — (U.R) —A new type of metal which will be stronger and lighter than mater ' ials used in buildings and machin- ■ ery, will result from a process being developed at the Utah University. D. W. Forsgren, engineering experiment student believes. The process of producing magnesium in sucicient quantities to supply demand of the metal will eventually be accomplished, Forsgren said. It develops magnesium from [ a form of limestone by means of j' heat produced by electricity.
