For the wedding dinner, served in the private dining room of Mrs. Miller’s English tearoom in Fort Wayne. 1 she added to her costume a turban 1 of poudre bine crepe. Covers were laid for 22 guests, at the dinner. A three-tiered wedding cake formed a centerpiece and pink roses and pink tapers added a ,'further decoration. After the dinner the couple left on a wedding :trip to cities in the east. Mrs. Byerly Is a teacher in the primary department of the Arcola schools. She was graduated from , i Central high school in Fort Wayue and attended Indiana university, where she was a member •of Phi Mu sorority. 1 i • ' ! REGULAR MEETING OF LOCAL SORORITY A short business meeting of the Tej Kappa sorority was held Tuesday night at the home of Miss Alice Alwein on Madison street, with Miss Esther Sunderman, assisting. The regular routine of business I was followed. The hostesses, assistled by. Miss Mary M. Coverdale, served dainty refreshments. The next meeting will be held . with the Mesdames H. B. Macy and I i’aul Saurer, at the home of the |former, in two weeks. DUTIFUL, DAUGHTERS HOLD CLASS MEETING E'even members of the Dutiful 'Daughters class of the Evangelical 'Sunday School three children attended the meeting of the class which was held at the home of Mrs. Adrian Baker on Nuttman avenue, Tuesday night. Mrs. Dwight Sheets and Mrs. Da'las Brown were the assisting host- ' esses. The meeting was opened with devotional services. Mrs. Eugene Runyon read the third chapter of Second Timothy and led in prayer. The regular business of the class was transacted. The calling committee for next month will include ,the Mesdames Adrian Baker, Fred i McConnell, and Jennie McAlhany. The September meeting will be held, at the home of Mrs. Russel I Melghi, and the assisting hostesses will be the Mesdames Glen Barkj ley, Ernest Foreman and Francis Eady. 4 CHURCH SOCIETIES HOLD ANNUAL MEETING Tip Women's Missionary Society I the Girls Missionary Guild and the Mission Band f the Reformed Church held tfaelr annual ipicnic and joint meeting in the church basement Tuesday afternoon. Approximately two hundred women, girls, and child, en, enjoyed the annual affair. The members met in the church basement at four o’clock and an interesting program was dield. “Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us." was sung as an opening hymn and Mrs. A. R. Fledderjohann conducted the w rship sei vice. A -ong was sung by the Mission band, and exercise, the Four Parables, was given by Alice Yost. Betty Hunter, Virginia Fledderjohann and Mary Franks. Letlia Fledderj >hann entertained with ia vocal selection, and the tliank offering thoughts were given by Mrs. Floyd Hunter. .A group of harmonica selections were played by Marjorie Miller, Phyllis Hunter, Carl Miller and Richard tl Idner. A reading. "Grandmother's Angel" was read by Kathryn Schroy- ! er, and Mrs. Dallas Goldner and Miss Eleanor Reppert sang av» cal duet as the closing number. The three organizations held separate business meetings, after which a pot-luck supper was enjoyed. Following the supper, tl.ie Girls Missiona.y Guild pres nted a Galilean Service. The song “We've a Story t Tell to the Nation" was sung and Mrs. Ralph Yager read, "How He Came” The song, “Galilea, Bright Ga.lilea" was sung and Miss Eleanor Repj pert read the Scripture lessen. The song "Launch Out” was sung I by the Girls Missionary Guild.” followed by tine reading. “The Sea Is Great, Our Boats are Small” by Miss Della Sellmeyer. “Day is Dying in the West,” was sung as a closing song. RETURNED MISSIONARY TO SPEAK AT MEETING The Women's Home .Missionary Society of the Methodist Episct pal Church will meet with Mrs. O. L. Vance, Tliiuisday afternoon at twothirty o'clock. The assisting hostesses will be the Mesdames James Stultz. John Rex, Leota Beery and C. D. Lewtoil. Mrs. Henry Heller will have the devotionals, and the lesson on ‘'Temperance” will be given by the various members. Zula Porter will also give a reading during the pro-
